FAUX PAINT FINISHES


  • Faux paint finishes entail a large range of surface finishes. The original French word "faux" means fake.  So faux finishes are surface finishes that can look like marble, wood, or plaster.
  • Marbleizing is used to make walls and other surfaces look like marble.
  • Graining and and wood graining is used to make surfaces look like wood.  
  • Color washing and rag rolling is used on flat or textured surfaces to look like plaster.
